G&T recently partnered with Bisnow to host the webinar "Putting Tenants First - Future Proofing Sustainable Spaces for Life Sciences” as part of its commitment to advancing sustainable practices within the life sciences sector.
The webinar, moderated by G&T partner Daniel Webster, brought together a panel of industry experts including Dan Brown, Senior Managing Director and Head of Portfolio at Brockton Everlast, Jane Hutchins, Director, Cambridge Science Park and Chair of the Cambridge Forum Place, Eve McLoughlin, Centre Laboratory Manager at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour and Tim Fry, Director and Business Leader for Science UKIMEA at ARUP.
The panellists explored how to create and sustain environments that cater to the evolving needs of life sciences tenants discussing key topics such as:
- The importance of location and the broader environment in attracting and retaining talent and improving collaboration
- Thoughts from both tenants and developers on delivering flexible and adaptable spaces that are financially viable
- A look at the opportunities to better implement circular economy principles in the life science sector and the challenges and opportunities that arise from retrofit
- A look at the challenges faced by tenants in operating their spaces and how designers and developers can better support them
- The lessons we can learn from other sectors to improve how we support our tenants
The webinar concluded that creating a sense of place, minimising waste and maximising flexibility through carefully considered design and effective engagement with users for lessons learned are all factors crucial in creating environments that can support the dynamic and evolving natures of the life sciences sector.
It was a pleasure to work with Bisnow to host this webinar and thank you to our panellists for their invaluable contributions.
